Laughter Yoga – Sheila Alquist

Posted: January 23rd, 2015

“Life can be challenging but everything is better with laughter!”

Sheila A pic sSheila Almquist, President of Sonoma County Section on Aging, a college graduate with an emphasis on education, has worked in hotel management and has held real estate licenses in multiple states. As well, she also spent four years as a personal banker with Wells Fargo, and for the last seven years, she has devoted herself to eldercare communities here in Sonoma County. Also she has worked as a marketing director for Oakmont Gardens and case manager for Council on Aging. Since then, she has currently found her niche as marketing director for Home Instead Senior Care, where she is able to unleash her energies and talents in many directions.

While she knows life can be challenging, she also believes that everything is better with laughter. She trained under Dr Katarina to become a Certified Laughter Yoga Instructor. To that extent, she demonstrates simple ways to encourage laughter in both your personal and business life through this practice. Understandably, she believes that while laughter cannot cure disease, it can improve the quality of life for anyone. She currently teaches LY at Oakmont Gardens, Vintage Brush Creek, and Sonoma Hills and other senior centers and communities. You will walk away from this session motivated and energized, with ten reasons why laughter is good for you.
