Topic:  How Music Changes Our Bodies, Minds and Spirits

 

Jamie Blumenthal, MA, MT-BC is owner of Family Music Connection. She has a master’s in Psychology and is trained in urological music therapy and is a board certified music therapist. Since 1982, she has worked in hospital and community settings with infants, children, adults and seniors in the areas of mental health, cancer, dementia, developmental disabilities, chemical dependency and pain management. In the mid 1980’s, she worked with a committee to develop a 125 bed dementia unit at a 500 bed multi level care facility where she was the department head for the therapeutic actiivities. Jamie has published articles, given seminars and taught music therapy courses through UCSB and SSU extensions. She currently has a private practice in Sonoma county working with individuals groups and agencies.
