Hospice by the Bay

Though living with a serious or terminal illness may seem overwhelming, our expert care teams ensure that you and your loved ones are not alone. Hospice by the Bay’s mission is to enhance the quality of life for our patients, while supporting their families and caregivers.

To help you face the end of life with dignity and comfort, we care for you wherever you call home — a family residence, assisted living, a nursing facility or the hospital.

Why Choose Hospice by the Bay?

You have a choice when it comes to hospice care. Ask your doctor for Hospice by the Bay by name.

Experienced: Founded in 1975 as Hospice of Marin, we’re pioneers in our field — the first hospice in California and the second in the United States. Our Care Team approach set the standard for hospice care across the country.

Local: As a Bay area health care provider, we focus on meeting the specific needs of our community. To enhance our hospice, palliative and pediatric care, we offer community grief support services and free advance health care planning workshops and estate planning seminars. Our bilingual/bicultural care teams support Spanish- and Chinese-language speakers.

Non-profit: Your charitable donations are used to benefit the community. We fund exceptional programs, such as Camp Erin, our youth grief support retreat, and ensure that everyone who needs our care receives it, regardless of ability to pay.

Call our office near you for caring, comfort and support in the counties of Marin, San Francisco, San Mateo and Sonoma, and the cities of Napa, American Canyon and Vallejo.
