April 2017 meeting – Parkinson’s Awareness month

Posted: May 10th, 2017

April is Parkinson’s Awareness month. Learn about the warning signs of Parkinson’s, community resources and national programs to support families and caregivers, and the Parkinson’s Foundation’s national walk program Moving Day® happening in San Francisco on May 7th.

Colleen FischerColleen Fischer is the Community Development Manager for Parkinson’s Foundation Northern California office. Her background is as a non-profit professional with over 18 years of experience in the arts management and health charities field. Based in the Bay Area, she lives each day wondering how people can make the world awesome. She currently uses her powers for good within the Northern California Parkinson’s communities. She spends a significant amount of time encouraging committee members, volunteers, team leaders, and her fellow colleagues to strive for the next great moment; whether that be in fundraising, making the tough ask, getting the un-gettable get, or living their best life possible with Parkinson’s. When she is not working she is walking her yellow Labrador Finnegan, jamming out to some great music, or snuggling up with her kindle.
