Care for the Caregiver: Staying Sane in Stressful Times

Joyce Duffala

Our global village is not the same as it was 20 years ago. Random violence is no longer a rare surprise. As a result, all of us are experiencing new stressors in our daily lives. Fortunately, techniques for staying calm, centered, and sane abound, coming to our contemporary aid from many times and places. Let’s consider them together.

Rev. Joyce Duffala, Ed.D., is the Assistant Minister at the Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa, where she oversees the pastoral care and spiritual support programs and volunteers. In her previous career, she provided communication workshops to corporations, nonprofits, and universities.  As a result of these two careers, she has co-authored  “Seeing Good at Work: 52 Weekly Steps To Transform Your Workplace Experience.”
